Llangollen

We went to LLangollen in North Wales today, it's such a beautiful and lively place. There is one main street and no matter what time of year it is always the hive of activity. It has a steam railway which you can have a ride on. There are endless little crafty shops and a few charity shops and lots of lovely places to eat. It's on the River Dee and you can see the Berwyn mountains. We ate at The Corn Mill which was excellent, we shared a starter and main. For starter we had 'Cider braised pigs cheeks with celeriac mash, crispy bacon and scrumpy sauce' and for main we had 'Ploughman's - Cheddar and Shropshire blue cheese, tomato, pork pie and piccalilli', both were excellent and perfectly presented. The pigs cheek was cooked perfectly, sort of melted in your mouth and the constituent parts of the whole dish complemented each other excellently. We also had some great mustard with the meal, recommended by the gentleman that bought us our food, called, 'Welshlady' wholegrain mustard with leeks. We shall definitely visit again. All in all another lovely day. Hope you're having a nice start to the week. I'm back to work tomorrow xxo
