Something big - Jim O'Rourke

we took Conker to the vets on Friday for her booster, they weighed her and told us she is over weight, she has a kitten head in a fat 6 year old cats body, we felt bad. More chase is being played.

naming ceremony

I helped my friend set up for babies naming ceremony yesterday, it was a lovely day, she had a large branch from a tree that had been potted in soil in the corner of the room and called it the wishing tree, everyone who attended was to write the little one a wish on a luggage tag and tie it to the tree, I thought this was a beautiful idea. Hope you have had a lovely weekend xxo

Lucy Auge, Sarah Raven and very small posies

A while back I won a give away on the lovely Lucy Auge blog, I won some flowers that were from the Sarah Raven shop. I won some Cyclamen bulbs, they arrived a little while back but just got round to photographing and blogging about my lovely winnings. Thank you ladies! I tried to photograph them but my cat Conker immediately claimed the packaging so it's kind of hard to see. I took apart my double ended spray and practised my spirals making some mini posies. Couscous and avocado for lunch xxo

hand tied, pollination and awards

last night I went to an awards meal with some members of the community allotment that I volunteer at, which is also where I made this flower mosaic. We won thriving which is category 4 out of 5 categories, pretty great!! Lovely fruits of the forest cheese cake for dessert. Been making ties in floristry. The honey bee project is all done, apart form putting it on display, looks great, well done class! xxo

oxtails, sprays and hexagons

yesterday for our traditional style meal we had oxtails that had been cooking for about 7 hours and they were delicious and tender and perfect for the enveloping winter weather we're experiencing. I picked the hexagons up today for the honey bee project, they are looking pretty great I think, well done little ones. I have been making single and double ended funeral sprays in floristry today. Hope you've all had a lovely weekend and Monday was ok, we're having gammon for tea tonight xxo

tea parcels

I seem to go in and out of embroidery phases, as the lovely Coco says "it gives you peace of mind" it is a calming and relaxing past time and I really am loving it at the moment, perfect for cold days. These are my embroidery scissors  that have been handed down to me, they used to belong to Great Aunt Gwyneth. I have been using the tape I bought from 'what you sow' to make little parcels for holding tea in so I can ship some of my favourite teas out to friends. Happy weekend all xxo
