Changes

.
Thora turned 17 weeks old today and it has both flown by and felt like forever. My life has changed dramatically in ways that are so unbelievably magical and in ways that make me crave some time to myself. It becomes easier and easier, getting into a routine, getting two people ready in the morning. It's like starting from the beginning for me too, learning to dress myself again because I have to learn new techniques that enable me to wave my arms around doing actions to various nursery rhymes and put a cardigan on at the same time. Thora smiles now and giggles and it's totally brilliant, I feel such pangs of happiness when she smiles at me it truly does melt your heart, it's like butterflies.
.
I wouldn't say I instantly fell in love with her but I definitely instantly new I would take care of her forever, nurture her and protect her, it was an overwhelming feeling of care, excitement and relief.  Of course I love her dearly but for me it was a gradual realisation.
.
I still check she's breathing a lot which I'm hoping will pass over time or at least ease off a little as it's pretty exhausting. They are far more resilient than we think!
.
I have made some new friends with babies similar ages to Thora and we spend a lot of time together supporting one another and reassuring each other whilst eating cake and visiting national trust parks and galleries; pretty great.
.
Above are some images from a walk with friends and a day out at Mere Sands Wood with Chris and of course a picture of a detail of our beautiful baby girls hand.

I find having friends with babies the same age is a huge help and keeps me sane. I look forward to them weekly!
